  #URBANROMANTIX TAKEOVER TUESDAY • 📸 @mmeyers76 • The Vessel, NYC This structure has been shot a ton, so I was looking for a comp I hadn’t seen before. Thankfully we had some great light right before sunset which reflected off a nearby building. I went with a 12mm lens to get as much of the Vessel in as possible and get a dynamic look to the shot. There was a girl below posing while her friends took some photos of her.   #URBANROMANTIX TAKEOVER TUESDAY • 📸 @mmeyers76 • I was sitting at home on a ‪Sunday night‬ and had to make a choice - watch the end of the football game, or go downtown and shoot the fog at sunset. I never pass up a chance to shoot fog, so it wasn’t a difficult decision. This was about 10 minutes of actual footage and 300 shots compressed to about 12s.   #URBANROMANTIX TAKEOVER TUESDAY • 📸 @kreativ_optiqx • Hey Fam, Gabe back to wrap up this weeks Takeover. Man…. Choosing the photos for this Takeover was a struggle. Like seriously, the struggle was real! So instead of talking about myself ( I was never really good at that ), I really just wanted to take the moment to thank everyone Ive met during my creative journey so far. Even though its just beginning, I have already had the pleasure of meeting (sometimes only virtually but still… getting to know ) some amazing people. For me, this platform has served as a platform of inspiration. Some of the people I’ve met here have been instrumental in how my photography and editing has evolved. Im not sure I would still be creating if it wasn’t for this community. Especially all the support I got in the begging, and really still get everyday. Thats why I try to get and stay involved with our community in any way I can! Whether it be by curating for my own Feature Hub @prime_optiqx ( Yup, that was the plug 🔌 … shameless I know 🤷🏻‍♂️😂😂 ), curating for some other amazing hub (there’s nothing better than searching out that amazing image from someone just starting out and featuring them ), or working with great people in the NYC Photography Community to coordinate Photowalks / Insta-Meets to meet more awesome creatives…I just hope that I can Inspire even just one person the way this community has inspired me.   #URBANROMANTIX TAKEOVER TUESDAY • 📸 @kreativ_optiqx • Hey fam! Its Gabe here. First I wanted to take a second and give a huge thanks to @this .kitty and the rest of the @urbanromatix squad for allowing me the honor of hosting this weeks Takeover Tuesday. When I first started posting my photos on IG I remember finding UR and distinctly remember saying to myself “It would be freakin awesome to be featured here” never thinking for second it was actually gonna happen (if you saw my work back then, you’d understand 😂 ). So for me, this is huge… So again, thanks so much!! I always enjoyed taking photos but never really put the effort in to learning proper photography or editing techniques, so when I started taking photos this time around, I knew there was going to be some serious effort if I wanted to be decent at this. Where my photography style has gone is lightyears away from where it started. I started out taking daytime landscapes, and ended up primarily a night time city / urban shooter. This shot here is one of favorites from this past year because it really speaks to the style of photography I have evolved into taking / editing. My style now is more about alternative perspective and angles. You can take even the most boring of shots, but if you can find a new perspective/ angle to shoot, it becomes a totally new viewing experience.
