Hard to express my gratitude for this woman: Eva Ansley. She stepped up when no one else would and helped found @eji_org with Bryan Stevenson 30 years ago. It all started when Eva, who was married and raising her son in Alabama noticed from the community level what was happening. People were being put in jail, sometimes for life or worse, death - without proper representation or due process. She started calling every lawyer she could find in the yellow pages, trying to start a grass roots movement from her living room, connecting lawyers with folks who needed help. She was rejected on average 20 times a day. She was just about to lose hope when Bryan called her. He was fresh out of Harvard Law School with a passion to use his degree to give pro bono work to those wrongly convicted. Eva is in an inspiration to all of us to be very curious about our own biases as well as what is happening within our communities. Everyone can make a difference. Thank you Eva for inspiring me to do more. I have the link to EJI’s website in my bio if you’d like to learn more or find ways to get involved : ) we’ve made a film, @justmercyfilm that details the organizations inception as well as the case of a man named Walter McMillian. It’s comes out in December. Thank you @variety for the opportunity to celebrate and highlight her work. One week ago I turned 30. To celebrate I stayed off my phone, I laughed with my friends, I hugged my family, I swam in the ocean, I dreamt really deep and reflected on...everything. Thank you for supporting my growth as an artist and individual. Thank you for using your hearts, minds and voices to better the space around you. Thank you for inspiring me. There’s so much life to live. I’m excited to see where we go. (Portrait by sister @alia_pop 💕birthday dress by @staud clothing 💕 )

Excited to be in Shanghai with @tiffanyandco at their “Vision and Virtuosity” exhibition. It’s a stunning look at the history of Tiffany’s iconic pieces and definitive shade of blue! Definitely worth a visit 💎 #VisionaryTiffany #TiffanyPartner

“When we step onto the soccer field, we have two things on our mind: Our teammates. And the little girl sitting at home watching us play. We want that little girl to know that she is worth every bit as much as the boys she practices soccer drills with after school. That's why we fight for equal pay. It's a pretty simple idea: Women should be paid equally to men. And yet we and our teammates are still paid a fraction of what our male colleagues are paid. But this problem goes far beyond our team: Women in every industry are paid less than men, and it's even worse for women of color. Enough is enough — which is why the USWNT Players Association is partnering with #TIMESUP to launch the new Time's Up, Pay Up campaign to continue the fight so that every woman is paid her worth. Our fight has always been about so much more than just a paycheck. It's about us — and every woman — getting the respect, dignity, and fairness that we deserve. Because here’s the honest truth: Equal pay isn't just a problem for the U.S. Women's Soccer Team players. It's a problem for women who are nurses and waitresses, doctors and lawyers, CEOs and domestic workers. It's a problem in every industry — and it has got to end. We fight so that the next generation of little girls who dream of being lawyers or chefs or even world champion soccer players know that they are worth every penny that their male colleagues are. We can't let them down. That's why your donation today is so powerful: It will help TIME'S UP fight so every woman is paid her worth. Period.” - @reeba04 @kelleyohara @sammymewyy (if you’d like to donate, link is in bio )
