If you’re curious about ethical fashion, I created a capsule wardrobe on Pinterest with some classic pieces, and wrote a little bit on what it means to shop ethically (which does not simply mean investing in good linen pants ). Link in bio!

love this article from Vitruvi talking all about a skincare tool I’ve been using this past year — the Gua Sha. Very informative and the tool is MOST effective when used with Young Living oils that support the skin. I starting using this tool last year with Frankincense, Tea Tree, and Lemon to target acne. Have any questions about what oils to use on your face? Drop them below! And getchu a Gua Sha (Link in bio )

PARABEN -- by definiton: synthetic compounds used to stop the growth of bacteria in products, acting as a preservative. parabens have been linked to cancer, endocrine disruption, developmental and reproductive toxicity. Parabens are man-made chemicals often used in small amounts as preservatives in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, foods, and beverages. Common parabens are methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben. Often more than one paraben is used in a single product. People can be exposed to parabens through touching, swallowing, or eating products that contain parabens. Many products, such as makeup, moisturizers, hair-care products, and shaving creams, contain parabens. Parabens in these products are absorbed through the skin. Parabens also can enter the body when pharmaceuticals, foods, and drinks containing parabens are swallowed or eaten. Parabens that enter the body are quickly excreted. Basically, this is just a cheap way to make products last longer. Alternatives: products that are herb, oil and vitamin based! Shorter ingredients, chemicals you can pronounce and plant-based options are the way to go!
made some playlists last month and imma be dropping them for y’all. titles inspired by guardians of the galaxy. this one is all my fav vintage or vintage-sounding songs, a lot of which i have at home on my records 📀 happy listening
Happy June 🤗
PETROLETUM -- by definition: often known as petroleum jelly, derived from refining crude oil, can be contaminated by carcinogen. often found in diaper rash creams and moisturizers. petroletum acts as a lubricant for machinery, but it's also found in so many creams, skin lubricants and lotions. idk abt u, but that doesn't really sit right with me. what make it toxic? it's not being tested. meaning, there could be carcinogens found inside, but we'd never know because it's testing isn't required. Europe lists it as one of the top 10 chemicals to avoid. what can replace petroletum? look for products with coconut oil, shae butter, cocoa butter, olive oil and jojoba oil!
Me: I’m moving to LA Everyone:
SYNTHETIC FRAGRANCE -- by definition: chemically designed synthetic materials often hiding ingredients, toxins and potential carcinogens that can cause skin and respiratory irritation, possible endocrine, organ and immune system disruption. ewg.org has a GREAT breakdown of this topic, describing fragrance as HIGH on the overall hazard spectrum and HIGH on allergies and immune toxicity scale. The word "fragrance" or "parfum" on the product label represents an undisclosed mixture of various scent chemicals and ingredients used as fragrance dispersants such as diethyl phthalate. Fragrance mixes have been associated with allergies, dermatitis, respiratory distress and potential effects on the reproductive system. search fragrance on EWG.org for the full breakdown and sign their petition asking companies to disclose their full ingredients list!
Hi mom(s )! Treat yourself this weekend.
PHTHALATES — by definition: a group of chemicals used as solvents to make fragrance stick to skin. linked to birth defects and endocrine disruption. what is the endocrine system? it is the collection of glands that produce hormones that regulate metabolism, growth and development, tissue function, sexual function, reproduction, sleep and mood among other things. basically, the system keeping you tf together. the cdc lists a GIANT list of things phthalates are used in such as vinyl flooring, adhesives, detergents garden hoses etc. like ANYTHING plastic. and i’m sure we all know the effects of plastic 😬 so, why on earth are we getting laundry detergent, lotion, or soap with phthalates. people are exposed to phthlates by eating and drinking foods that have been in contact with containers and products containing phthalates. exposure can also occur from breathing in air that contains phthalate vapors or dust contaminated with phthalate particles. young children may have greater risk of being exposed to phthalate particles in dust than adults because of their hand-to-mouth behaviors. how to avoid phthlates: 〰️ diffuse oils 〰️ look at the ingredient list on anything you purchase that isn’t edible! 〰️ stop buying your fruits in veggies wrapped in plastic 〰️ say no to straws and buy a portable metal straw 〰️ store your food in glass containers or biodegradable bags **some research and information found on cdc.gov and livescience.com
Just posted our class schedule for this month in my stories 🥰 it’s getting tropical af over here. Happy Summer!
Some of y’all are getting GOTTTT this allergy season. When it hits me here are my go-to’s: Steaming your face, putting some at the bottom of your shower, or rubbing straight on your chest are all great ways to open up those airwaves and get that support you need during this season. Here are some oils that are great for allergies: 〰️ PEPPERMINT great for sinus relief and scratchy throats. also great for cold and cough support. I usually drop a few drops of this at the bottom of my shower if I’m feeling stuffy! 〰️ BASIL basil helps inflammation in response to allergens. it also supports the adrenal glands, which are involved in producing over 50 hormones that drive almost every bodily function. basil oil also helps to detoxify the body of bacteria and viruses. i take this in capsule form when trying to fight inflammation! 〰️ EUCALYPTUS supports lungs and sinuses. studies have shown that it produces a cold sensation in the nose that helps to improve airflow. eucalyptus contains citronellal, which has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects; it also works as an expectorant, helping to cleanse the body of toxins and harmful microorganisms that are acting as allergens. diffuse 5 drops of eucalyptus at home or apply it topically to the chest and temples! 〰️ LEMON lemon oil supports lymphatic system drainage and helps with overcoming respiratory conditions. when diffused at home, lemon oil can kill bacteria and eliminate allergy triggers in the air. add 1-2 drops of lemon essential oil to water to so support immune and digestive system! 〰️ TEA TREE diffusing tea tree in home can help eliminate mold, bacteria and fungi. it is an antiseptic agent and it has anti-inflammatory properties. use tea tree in a roller and roll on areas caused by allergies for support! ALLERGY BLEND: Combine 2-3 drops of peppermint, eucalyptus and lavender oil with one teaspoon of coconut oil and massage the mixture into the temples, behind the ears and into the bottoms of the feet.

sometimes i feel a little strange about sharing info/oils stuff/pretty much anything i share here, through curated photos and illustrations. but this is the way that feels second nature to me now 🤷🏻♀️ tbh i live in an attic-turned-apartment with trash lighting and one window. and i’m busy af. taking time to take good photos is not always an option for me and i like playing around and getting creative with how i share. lol i’m better at graphic design anyway 🙃
One more day til February 1st! I’m so excited to see what YL rolls out for us in promo’s. We have a lot of fun things coming up this month that I’m excited to share with y’all tomorrow 🌿
PSA 🗣🗣🗣 Still thinking about this. I never want this to be a place where anyone feels bad about the way they’re living. Wellness looks different for EVERYONE! remember, we’re all doing our best. 〰️ For me, lately, wellness has looked like: actually working out in the morning, cutting back on fast food, watching what I’m spending and putting more in savings, using my oils, going to bed at a decent hour. Actually taking care of myself and it feels great! I want to be more open about that here in an attempt to better hold me accountable. What healthy habits are y’all starting?
FYI - Frankincense is the oil that got me interested and using oils. It’s my all time fav for skin and I’ve said that like a million times on here for FR. Game changer. 〰️ here’s a lil excerpt about it from @sognatrice co in our Wellness group! Frankincense (lovingly referred to as Frank ) is amaaazing for skin support and anti-aging - I’ve got your attention now, huh? I put Frank in every part of my skincare routine - my face wash, moisturizer, everything. Go ahead and make yourself a roller with Frank and Copaiba for naturally glowing skin. Frank can also be used for mental and emotional support to ground and focus the mind, making it perfect to diffuse or roll on during times or prayer or meditation.
