dumb, and rarely smart
peyton told me not to post this but here we are
and...this jaunt to nyc is over, and i closed it out in the best way i know how: joining some amazing youth activists and organizers outside of the UN today for their weekly @fridaysforfuture strike! i’m so inspired by the youth climate strike movement. more often than not, young people are told to be seen not heard, to sit down and shut up. i’ve long known that’s bullshit! the incredible people i have met through the climate strike movement show me that there’s another way for us, and that tons of other young people feel the same way. we’re not sitting down and shutting up, we’re standing up and fighting for what we believe in and what we know we need: our clean water, our clean air, our futures, our children’s and our grandchildren’s. if you can, i hope you’ll strike with us. - i took steps to ensure that my trip to new york was carbon neutral, including purchasing carbon offsets. also, follow these awesome youth activists i was striking with!
respect the drip, karen
@theebillyporter is an EXPERIENCE and was so kind to talk to me at the @equalityutah gala last night. Before his (AMAZING ) show and speech, he spoke to a group of us about how it’s easy for queer people to run to spaces that already accept us—the LA, SF, NYCs of the world—but the places where we who are out, proud, and comfortable in our own sexuality should go is places like Utah, where homophobia, discrimination, and even evil practices like conversion therapy are still alive and well. By going to these spaces, being loud and proud and our authentic selves, hopefully we can inspire a new generation of LGBTQ+ people to live out of the shadows, being the incredible, proud people they were made to be. I was so honored to get to meet you, Billy! Your words, your fight, and your amazing performance will stick with me forever.
deleting this later, shana tova my fellow jews!!
can i get a bi flag emoji PLEASE

been so tired all the time lately
long post, you will be angry at the end. As you (and basically everyone at this point, i’ve flexed it everywhere ) probably know by now, I spent my Labor Day weekend in Zion National Park, one of Utah’s Mighty Five parks and one of the crown jewels of our National Parks system. . I am a firm believer that our @nationalparkservice is one of the most fundamentally good functions of the federal government. It serves no purpose other than to make the wilderness and the freest parts of our country freer. That’s a noble cause, in my opinion, and I’ve been able to experience that myself, hiking more than thirty miles through the untouched wild of Southern Utah this weekend. . But our National Parks are under attack. . The Trump administration has threatened our national parks, most recently taking millions from them for his under-attended 4th of July parade, but also cut staffing and hiring of Rangers, prioritizing energy production over park preservation, opening new lands to drilling, the list goes on. . This president has gone so far as to remove protections from more than two MILLION acres at Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments, opening up our shared national heritage to logging, drilling, and mining. . Rather than care for the protection of our natural lands, the President of the United States cares more about big business and corporate special interests. Disgusting. . So. How do we stop it? . It starts with your vote. If you can vote, in 2019 vote for Democrats who will stand up to the president. Then, in 2020, campaign and vote against this president. Fight for our land, our climate, and our ability to experience the greatest places the the United States has to offer. . In the meantime, donate to organizations that protect our natural lands. A link to donate to the National Parks Conservation Association will be in my link in bio moments after this post goes up, and I’ll include donation links in my story for more great organizations you should contribute to. . Sorry for a long and (for once ) not dumb or meme caption, but this is too important.
i get it. you want to be as cool as my dad. and for a limited time, you can be. merch link in bio
This week on @NewsinaRush , we continue our presidential candidate series with Kamala Harris. Critics argue that her criminal justice record is worrying, but her campaign argues otherwise. Who’s right?

RUTHLESS! my style as a juvenile
This photo was taken on January 27, 2016. It came at the kickoff of 1,276 of the greatest days of my life. It feels unreal—four years of my life, the most amazing cast and friends for life I made, the appallingly talented crew, the ridiculously devoted and ever-excited fans, how can I thank you all enough? It has been the crowning joy of my life to work on this project, and then another joy to experience you all watching the show. I talk about it in interviews all the time, but every fanfic, fan art, excited tweet, instagram post, tumblr theory…amazing. Whether or not you picked up our show at the beginning or end of it’s run, no matter how you watched it, enjoyed it, and theorized it, and how you spent your time on social media around it (or chose not to! ) I want to thank you personally, from the bottom of my heart, for your celebration of what our show stood for: love, care, understanding, acceptance. At it’s core, Andi Mack was a show about love. Our show said that no matter who you are or where you’re from, what your sexual orientation is, your family situation is, who your friends are, and so much more, you are loved. To everyone who felt loved by our show, found love through our show, or just felt seen or heard for the first time through the show, you are loved. Thank you for your love. Thank you for letting us love you. Thank you for loving yourself. ❤️
i love you forever . the #renewandimack paper cranes are strung on this tree and we’re all crying

i remember the first time i met cameron boyce. no other person told me, candidly, what my experience on the disney channel would be like. nobody else’s words rang truer, all through the experience. all the good, all the bad. all the beautiful incredible moments: the fans, the incredible crews and experiences. all the tough moments: the ones that nobody else would understand because they hadn’t been through it. he had been through it all, and when i joined, those moments of him telling me what to expect kept coming back, day after day, year after year. i still hear his voice in my head. i still pass along what he taught me. rest easy, my friend.
