Isn’t it funny how being able to solve problems like these can translate into knowledge of different subjects and concepts, but having knowledge of other concepts and subjects (*cough cough* business and politics ) in no way translates into any knowledge of abstract and objective studies? Yet the people that our society values the most are the ones that study subjects with no translation into knowledge of objective reality...food for thought
Today we remember a man that exudes ethical ideology, a man that stared death in the face as he continuously and peacefully fought an epidemic of injustice; a man that wanted to see our society become what he knew it could be. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his life so that we could ALL be where we are today, being able to be who we want to be regardless of what we look like. He carried our nation on his shoulders out of the cave that we’d be stuck in, he showed us the light. Yet, as we remember him, I can’t help but think that he would want to turn the attention again to the social injustice happening in our country today. We have so much more work to do, and we must remember all the people that supported Dr. King in his journey. These people are the example we must follow when acting in our daily lives, it doesn’t take someone as monumental as Dr. King to change a nation, it takes ordinary people coming together to show the injustice that is occurring, and requires an attitude of peace and dialogue. We must have conversations and open our minds to the fundamental causes of the behaviors and problems we see today. We must not attack those members of an unjust system who adhere and are incentivized by the system...they too are victims of the system. We must promote the healing of all the people in a broken system, that is the only way to create a lasting peace in an unjust society. We must carry with his legacy the legacy of all those brave, ordinary citizens that risked and lost their lives fighting for justice, equality, and most importantly peace. Thank you to all those people that freed our nation from the injustice that held it down. Many people don’t recall the details of the events that led to Dr. King giving his infamous speech. I can’t help but cry when I think about the horrors that it took for our nation to wake and acknowledge the injustice they fought...Emmett Till, Bloody Sunday, the Temple Bombing, and all the other terroristic attacks that dehumanized an entire race of people that only wanted equality and peace...we can not take the progress made and the effort of activists for granted.
Actual video of me dodging 2017 when it tried to eat me
This is a bit overdue, but last month I was rear ended when I slowed down to let a opossum cross the road. The woman that hit me was texting and driving and was going fast enough to bend my dear car’s body...she was totaled by the incident. Many of you knew Clara, she’s been with me for nearly 10 years and was less than 3,000 miles short of the big 200k, she was without a doubt the baddest bitch on the road, never asking more of me than a new alternator, and I have no doubt that she could’ve made it another 200k miles. Letting her go was such a difficult thing to do, but we were able to make light of the situation by donating her to the @makeawishmi foundation, so that even in her final action she gave to something good. I’ll be spending the next 2 years going on adventures with Amelia (bottom right ), she’s got some big tires to fill...RIP Clara.
