Same perspective but different. I feel like it’s constantly up to us as creatives to push the perspective in ways we’re not always familiar with. I don’t ever really drone all that much but love to switch up every so often. This sunset was stunning for several reasons and @cocosirens somehow elegantly dodged waves trusting that I’d come up with something 😂🙏🏻 all in a days work 👌🏻
Capturing moments like this with a different perspective helps me keep my creative flow going. This wasn’t your typical north shore shoot haha. Surfers in the back and locals watching us soak in the moment. I love times like this with connection and all you’re concentrating on is creating. That’s so important too. Create for the love of it. Always. 🙏🏻
This moment was one to look back on. All quiet in the valley of Lauterbrunnen with hardly in people in site. Lot of love for this little town and the beauty it brings. There were birds chirping and cowbells ringing as we drank our hot coffee. These mornings are everything. 🙏🏻🏔⛪️ Wide Screen Video in my story!
Lil handheld clip with the boys out in Oregon. Too much fun and so much more to be had this year. It’s coming 🙏🏻 🏍
Man this last sunset we caught at north shore was one for the books. Everyone was present in the moment and surfers began to come back onto shore to enjoy it as well. Saw some of the greats out there like @kellyslater and a few others. What place to be and we all got to experience together. Unreal 🙏🏻🏄🏻♂️
More from this wild trip with a wilder crew. So fun to be a apart of something big and in the works. It’s humbling to be alongside legendary athletes and creatives that push you to be your best. That energy keeps everyone on their toes, but most importantly challenges us to have fun. That’s what’s it’s all about. If you’re not having fun then what are you doing? Happy Monday guys 🤘🏻
I get asked a lot for advice or direction in becoming a full time creative, and it’s much more complicated than just a simple answer. There are no secrets or presets that make something like that happen. Sure you’ll catch breaks, meet people, and have opportunities present themselves, but none of that comes without the struggle. It’s consistency, failures, risks, resiliency, pressure, and so much more that go into developing your career. That’s with any position you want to do for yourself. It’s about problem solving and finding new ways to create, learn, and improve. It’s about going beyond your limits and finding what you’re made of. Do more things that scare you. Embrace the stiff winds and let yourself mold through flexibility and persistence. Above all else, value yourself and your vision. Trust in that. Those are a few things that make me a full time creative. The rest I learn along the way 🙏🏻 @Alohilaniresort #AlohilaniResort
I’ve been to some incredible places in my life and I promise you it’s the people that make it. It’s the ones you meet along the way and the strangers you encounter. We had fun catching sunset with these two awesome creatives, and I snapped this of Johnny with the fancy foot work 😂 Good people are everything 🙏🏻 | @alohilaniresort #alohilaniresort
You’d never know this was shot in a park with strangers all around and chaotic haha. It’s been a blast back here exploring and relaxing. The weather has been all over but nothing short of what I needed. So much more to share and many more moments like this 👌🏻| @alohilaniresort #alohilaniresort
Hope everyone’s year is off to a great start! Popping in and letting you guys know that I developed my own instagram filter called Sauce. It’s some of my tones and easy to use in your stories. You can see the filter on my profile. It just launched so let me know what you think 🤘🏻 happy new year! 👨🏻🍳
So many moments that were up and down this year but this one in particular was special. All quiet up on the mountain top with 360 views all around and the sun blasting through the valley. I’d live up there in a heartbeat. At least until I’m snowed in and can’t go anywhere haha.
Choppers, bikes, and the best crew. You can’t beat it 🤘🏻 We had a wild time out there roaming the terrain and flying all over the place. All kinds of legends were present and made for a hell of an experience. I posted some behind the scenes over at @longstache 👌🏻 this is the first of several sets from this adventure 🚁
This is still one of my favorite past times. Caught @wilclaussen out there basking in the last bit of light on the coast. Unreal times. Felt like we were walking around in Halo map. Hope everyone had blessed Christmas. 🙏🏻🏄🏻♂️ Shot on @sonyalpha | A7RIII • 110mm • f2.8 • 1/400 sec • ISO 500 | #BeAlpha
Looking back at the year, this was definitely a highlight for me and something I had been trying to do for years. The paddle out was cake and the views were the icing. Unreal time and blessed I was able to do with a great crew. Hope everyone is spending the holidays with loved ones 🌲🙏🏻
Artist Collab x @mightykills // The second installment in our collab is about the story. There is this notion that you have to create some EPIC photo to grab someone’s attention or for it to be “good enough” for approval, and that’s made up in our own heads from social media. The moments in between are what create the story. Sure at times one photo can tell it all, which is amazing, but that’s mostly never the case. Conditions don’t always line up, the place or location is deceiving, the idea isn’t coming together, etc. That’s part of being a true creative. Problem solving and conveying that story through your perspective is what it’s about. Don’t force yourself into thinking it’s about the ONE shot or ONE opportunity. Think about the journey and the memories that make it as a whole. Capture all of it. It’s the longevity of the creative process. Happy Saturday guys 🙏🏻
The moody hot springs in Nagano were filled with these guys. Wanted to share this little cutie to make everyone smile today. Hope you guys have a great day 🙏🏻
Sky high over Catalina with the crew 🏆 such a fun flight to look back on. Gotta get back out the island and actually stay there next time 🙏🏻
Missing these gentle giants. Never did I think I’d ever get to see one of these guys in the wild but it happened. Such an intimate experience watching the families interact and take care of each other. Plus all the baby elephants 😭🙋🏻♂️🙏🏻
Caught this guy right before he fell off from a wave 😂 what a wild sunset in a stunning place. I was shooting in the water and saw that guy wobbling out there. I’m always drawn to minimalism. Had a blast that week exploring and pumped that we had @princewaikiki to thank for that. Appreciate you guys 🙏🏻
Artist Collab X @mightykills // Everything use to be so different. The idea of true collaboration amongst artists was a real thing. The act of building each other up and making something bigger than ourselves seems like a distant idea now. Everyone is out to get their own to survive and I get that. But it’s just as important to root people on and develop new inspiration through each other. I’ve always had a massive level of respect for Marvin’s hustle and what he does. The way he designs, runs a company, raises a family, and stays true to himself, inspires me in more ways than one. We’ve always been in communication and want to take things back to their roots. Create because you love it. Do the damn thing with a full heart and make something big. If one person wins, we all win. Admire and inspire. Let’s help each other 🤘🏻
Every time I get out in the water it’s a new challenge. I’m terrible at surfing but it’s practice that gets you moving. Whether I’m in the water paddling or shooting, I feel like I’m pushing myself. Growing up in in the Texas panhandle you only see lakes so the ocean was always a distant thought for me. Now it’s become a home away from home and motivates me to be more conscious of my surroundings. Cheers to working on the hard stuff 🤘🏻
Flashback to this epic frigid adventure chasing icebergs. This will definitely always stick with me as one of my favorite times every traveling. This moment. I’d never seen anything like that in my life. It was all worth the journey.
Watching the sunset at pipeline was something special. Sometimes the the light just explodes and other times just slowing fades into darkness. This this was a little of both. Caught a surfer paddling out for one last set and you can spot him on the left for reference. Massive respect for those surfers getting out there in that madness 🤘🏻🏄🏻♂️
