You cannot play boxing and you can’t half-ass combat sports. • It is all or nothing and it takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. • As students, they sacrifice a lot of things to get to where they will be. • They sacrifice their time, their ability to go out and party or enjoy a regular life, and they sacrifice time with their loved ones. • However, as a coach, we do the same absolute thing. 🥊 #MITTWORK VIDEO 👊🏻 • Sometimes as a Coach we still have the desire to lace up the gloves and throw some combos! • In this video I am practicing throwing my combo and simulating an opponent throwing a body shot which I can catch & shoot to counter with my own combinations! 🥊 The combination is: 🥊 Jab-Cross-Lead Hook-Catch The Body- Counter with Lead Uppercut- Follow through with a rear Cross or Rear Hook. • This drill will help countering when an opponent is timing your punch! • When throwing your punches, strike fast but also retract back just as fast! (This combination can also be used on the heavy bag, just visualize an opponent throwing a body after you throw that Lead Hook! Be consistent and persistent 🗣 If you find yourself struggling sticking to your fitness goals I suggest doing the following 👇🏽 1️⃣ Start a training program and stick to it. Social media is FULL of workouts and even though these workouts may be legit. You’re not going to progress much by trying random workouts all the time. You have to be consistent in your workouts. 2️⃣ Track your progress. There has been many times where I’ve felt discouraged and thought that I wasn’t getting anywhere, but tracking your progress makes you realize how far you’ve come. Grab a notebook and start writing things down. 3️⃣ Get your priorities straight. Let’s be honest if being healthy/strong/fast etc is something you really want you need to start prioritizing. Schedule your gym time. Plan around it. Do you need to wake up earlier ? Do I need to resort to watching only 2 episodes on Netflix instead of the whole entire season ? These are questions you need to ask yourself if you are serious about making a change. Creating healthy habits can do a lot for you in the long run. So remember to stay disciplined, be consistent and get your priorities straight.
