Before filmmaking most of my life revolved around hockey. Training, practicing, and playing nearly everyday. I don’t strap the skates on too often but when the ponds freeze they provide a good reason to bring back the nostalgic feels. LINK TO THE FULL FILM IS IN MY BIO.
Lately I have fallen in love with experimenting with different aspect ratios within filmmaking. It’s so easy to fall into a groove of your “style” but I find it’s healthy to break that in small ways and explore new ideas. Here’s quick peak into our newest YouTube video. @kyleniego during one of his first moments down the valley.
This project has been a journey. The challenge to seamlessly bring together 14 different activities was one that we at @inmist were excited to take on. @vancouversnorthshore is a pretty incredible place and we had the privilege to get amongst all the action with our friends at @lokicreative for our newest film. Link to the film is in my bio.
Been working on a very exciting project that is soon to be released. It’s always a surreal feeling when are are getting close to showcasing a piece of art that you’ve been working on for months. #35mm
I have always loved the snow. Although it can throw a wrench in a lot of people plans I love it how it forces you to slow down life for minute. Drive safe out there folks.
The cold water dips will always keep a smile on your face.
The past 6 months I have almost solely been only taking my point and shoot film camera into the mountains. I have found it helps to keep motivated to capture those candid in between moments and to stay even more present. This being one of those moments on the way up Mt. Cheam.
good people. good places. one thing that makes me so happy about where I live is the ability to cultivate experiences for people. being able to host visitors from out of town with a fire by the river or a hike and alpine camp is something I don’t take for granted. bringing someone into a unique moment can be powerful.
Sherwood and super 8.
The stereotype of Canadians probably looks a lot like this but the reality is that in BC we only get a few days a year when the ponds freeze. We will embrace the stereotype when we get the chance.

Tyler and I set out on this particular day to get in one of the last hikes of Mt. Cheam before the access road became snowed in. Its a hike we have done so many times and now have so many stories from but each and every time it brings new and different emotions. This time in particular was mostly uneventful but I hang on to a deep feeling of peace, joy, and gratefulness experienced throughout the day.
Blessed to always be surrounded by incredible people. @josiahbarkowsky showed up in the office for an internship over 2 years ago and we have been able to get up to some pretty sweet epics together since.
Peaceful moments as we got to the top of the coast.
Christmas for me always brings out the deepest appreciate for family. There is no better feeling than being surrounded by a group of people who love each other. For some that might look like a group of friends celebrating together, cousins that you only seen one a year, or just a meal with your parents and siblings. I hope that today everyone was surrounded by the people that care about them the most. Merry Christmas.
‘Tis the season for friends and family.
Amongst the chaos of the holidays it feels good to be finding peace.
I can’t get enough of these drives.
Spare moments from summer on the shores of the Gulf Islands. Rereading our favourite books, showers via freshwater lakes, and with our bikes our only vessels.
